Review: Vampire Academy

Vampire Academy
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When it comes to Paranormal/Supernatural fiction, I mostly associate it with cliches and there’s always characters who are hard to relate to or feel because of the over-dramatic soap-opera kind of stories.

I know I’m generalizing this idea and I can’t say that Vampire Academy is everything I wanted from a paranormal fiction but it is the first book that I can use the word “satisfying” with. And story-wise, it has everything thrilling and bone-chilling even with simple words. The twists might not all be unexpected but it certainly lives up to its genre. I also loved the characters especially Rose, which is very rare for me when it comes to this type of book.

I loved it. pure and simple.
